Desi Karigar Wooden Handcrafted Serving Tray, Pack Of 2 This exquisite handicraft, made from sheesham wood, comes all the way from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Saharanpur is famous for its wood carving, particularly for its open work screens carved with the vine leaf pattern, 'anguri'. The intricate carvings, done in high relief, are called 'takai'. Wood carving in Saharanpur began with architectural carvings. To save time, artisans use punches nowadays instead of hand-crafting. The designs are then transferred onto planks using zinc stencils. Then, buffing is done meticulously to give that glossy finishing. The whole process took our craftsmen around 15 days. The intricate carvings are truly breath-taking, and the amazing fact is that they were all done by punches. The amount of skill required for such impeccable symmetric placement is truly remarkable. Now serve snacks to your guests in style and elegance by bringing home this magnificent tray.
